Distance Education Programs

Flexible, remote study models tailored for professionals and home-based learners

Overview of Distance Learning at BAST

The Board of Applied Sciences and Technology (BAST) Islamabad offers structured Distance Education Programs for individuals who are unable to attend physical, daily classes due to professional work schedules, geographical limitations, or other commitments.

Our distance learning model bridges the gap by allowing you to study from the comfort of your home or office. BAST provides reference curricula, syllabus frameworks, and study guides mapped to national standard vocational trades, letting you progress in your career while keeping your regular job.

Core Features of BAST Distance Education

  • Flexible Study Timelines: Balance your education with your personal and professional life. Study at your own pace and prepare for assessments on your own schedule.
  • Comprehensive Curricula: Every remote course follows an industry-vetted curriculum designed to cover key theoretical concepts and practical applications.
  • Academic Helpdesk Support: Get support from our registry office regarding syllabus guidelines, standard textbooks, and query responses.
  • Structured Assessments: Sit for examinations at designated physical partner centers or approved online testing platforms.

Assessment and Examination Methodology

To maintain the integrity of BAST credentials, distance learners undergo a rigorous evaluation process:

  • Home Assignments: Students submit theoretical assignments and case studies based on their syllabus during their registration term.
  • Term-End Examinations: Examination schedules are announced in advance. Students can choose their preferred testing method (online proctored exam or center-based exam at an affiliated ATP campus).
  • Practical & Viva Voce: For technical and engineering trades, distance students must perform practical validations or undergo a video-based viva review to demonstrate hands-on skill.

Course Materials and Student Helpdesk

Upon formal admission, BAST distance education students receive access to:

  1. Syllabus Outline: Detailed breakdown of course modules, reading topics, and learning objectives.
  2. Textbook References: A curated list of recommended books, digital PDFs, and online learning resources to assist with independent study.
  3. Online Academic Portal: Student portal access to download guidelines, check results, and track certificate issuance.
